The Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Association (CEEAA) will host a boat tour on the Chicago River on August 29, 2014, followed by a social hour for all attendees. The boat tour will focus on how Chicago uses the river as a resource and highlight the history of the building architecture along its banks. The tour will be co-hosted by Dick Lanyon, CEE alumus and retired Executive Director of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. A representative from the Chicago Architecture Foundation will provide commentary on the city's architecture.

The CEEAA believes this tour will provide a good opportunity for attendees to learn how CEE at Illinois has contributed to the development of Chicago.  Networking is also intended to be a highlight of the evening, as fellow alumni, business associates and current Illinois students, faculty and staff will have time to mingle and socialize.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Registration for the event must be completed by August 21, 2014. More details about the event, along with a link to the registration form, can be found at cee.illinois.edu/alumni/chicago-river-boat-tour.

Questions about the event can be directed to Jamie Byrum, Coordinator of Alumni and Corporate Relations (jbyrum@illinois.edu).
